Resilient vinyl flooring is quickly becoming one of the most popular flooring choices for homeowners, and it isn't difficult to see why. Resilient vinyl is tremendously versatile, serving as a low-cost alternative to hardwood, tile or stone while offering many of the same benefits. Vinyl flooring can be produced in an almost endless variety of styles and appearances, making it easy to find exactly the right aesthetic match. Vinyl is resistant to moisture, mildew and staining, and it offers excellent durability even in high-traffic areas. Its moisture-resistance also makes it an ideal choice for kitchens and bathrooms, where other flooring options may be less suitable.
Care and Maintenance
Resilient vinyl is among the easiest flooring materials to clean and maintain. Like hardwood, it's a good idea to use a dust-mop daily to keep the vinyl clean and dust-free. Sweeping can help to remove any larger pieces of dirt that may accumulate. Weekly mopping with a cleaner designed for hard surfaces can keep the vinyl flooring clean and healthy, but bear in mind that many vinyl materials do not require polishing or waxing. Vacuuming and mopping with harsh cleaning chemicals should be avoided when cleaning vinyl flooring.
